GSO 2833:2025 Scope
This standard specifies the fundamental requirements, guiding principles governing the workflow, and detailed procedures of the International Green Mark (IGM) Program. The Program is defined as a voluntary system intended to grant environmental labels to products that demonstrate compliance with specified environmental criteria, thereby distinguishing them in the market and enhancing their sustainable competitiveness.
The Program primarily covers construction materials, defined as any product or material that is produced or manufactured and placed on the market for the purpose of permanent incorporation into construction works (or parts thereof), where the environmental performance of such materials has a tangible and direct impact on the overall environmental performance of the buildings or construction works in which they are used.
The Program offers a set of environmental labels for products, each designed to meet specific needs and to focus on particular environmental aspects. The Program is voluntary by nature and is open to use by all interested parties and applicants who meet the initial requirements, whether local manufacturers or international suppliers, provided that they comply with the Program’s criteria and procedures.
