GSO 550:2022 Scope

1.1 This Gulf Standard specifies a method of determining penetration of semi-solid and solid bituminous materials. 1.2 The needles, containers, and other conditions described in this test method provide for the determinations of penetrations up to 500. NOTE (1): See the section on Penetration of Test Methods (ASTM D244) for information and precision and bias on testing emulsion residue. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and deter- mine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.4 This standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
