This general section on common aspects of measurement lists the general precautions to be taken, unless otherwise stated, to ensure reliability of measurements and should be read in conjunction with the separate sections describing methods of measurement. These separate sections contain the following items: a) Terms and definitions supplementing the International Electrotechnical Vocabulary. b) A sufficient amount of basic theory. c) Basic circuits. d) Measuring conditions and precautions. In case of conflict between the precautions given in this Recommendation and those given in the separate sections, the latter will prevail.
