GSO ASTM A1039/A1039M:2012 Scope

1.1 This specification covers commercial and structural steel sheet in coils and cut lengths produced by the twin-roll casting process. 1.2 The steel sheet is available in the designations listed in Section 4. 1.3 The material is available in the following sizes: Thickness—0.027 in. [0.7 mm] to 0.078 in. [2.0 mm] Width—up to 79 in. [2000 mm] 1.4 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard. NOTE 1—A description of the Twin-Roll Casting Process is included in Appendix X1
